Easy Chocolate Covered Pretzels / "Hugs" Recipe
Ok, practically everyone loves chocolate-covered pretzels, but this pretzel recipe is not only delightful, but it's an easy recipe for any holiday and perfect for neighbor gifts, too! It involves Hershey's "Hugs", regular-shaped or square-shaped pretzels and M&Ms. It takes just minutes for this sweet Christmas holiday party treat! First, turn your oven on to 200° degrees to preheat. Then, get a parchment-lined baking sheet and lay down a single layer of pretzels.
Now take a Hershey's Hug and place it in the center of each pretzel. Pop the cookie sheet in the oven for 4-6 minutes until you have shiny, slightly shiny, soft melted chocolate (but not liquid). Then (not liquid though). Then place an M&M in the center of each one, pressing down to spread the chocolate out. Put the tray in the freezer for 5-7 minutes or the refrigerator for 10-12 minutes until set, then store chocolate-covered pretzels in an airtight container.
Holiday Pretzel Rods
This chocolate-covered pretzels recipe is the perfect Christmas holiday treat for your friends and the kids who come to visit. For this recipe you’re going to need:
- 1 cup regular milk chocolate chips
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- 24 pretzel rods
- ½ cup crushed candy canes
- holiday sprinkles
- 2 tbsp. coconut oil
Get a large bowl for each kind of chocolate chip and put it in the microwave for a couple of minutes at a time, stirring in between until melted. Add 1 tbsp. oil to each bowl, stirring until creamy and smooth. Put crushed candy canes and holiday sprinkles into shallow bowls. Dip some in the white chocolate, and dip some in the dark chocolate, until they're about ¾ dipped. Then while still wet, decorate by rolling them in the sprinkles and then the crushed candy canes. Try nuts and sprinkles too, if you like, as another great added flavor! When you have finished with all your dipped pretzels, lay each one on a baking sheet lined with wax paper and put it in the refrigerator to set. In 15 minutes, you have delicious, chocolate-dipped pretzels to eat for the Christmas holiday! Store any remaining pretzels in an airtight container.
Holiday Pretzel Turtles
We have one more recipe to give you for three great Christmas dessert food ideas. This is another easy one to make, you need just 3 ingredients for Rolos, pretzels, and pecan halves. Just like the other recipes, you're going to want to take a baking sheet and line it with parchment paper. Preheat the oven to 350° degrees, and put regular pretzels in a single layer in the baking pan. Unwrap each Rolo and put one in the center of each pretzel. Then bake in the oven for 3-5 minutes, and while still soft, put a pecan half in the center of each one. Let cool completely, then enjoy!
